Book Cover Lookalike Fashion, Part Three

And so we come to what is now an annual feature of the Bethany House fiction blog…pairing the costuming choices of some of our historical book covers with modern fashion! Take a look at these beauties, releasing in 2020 or from early 2021, and their corresponding lookalike dresses. (You can scroll through our first and second years of doing this as well.)

Which of these dresses would you be most likely to actually wear?

  1. The dress by Courting Misfortune is closer to what I usually wear, but that purple dress by Jen Turano’s book is gorgeous!!!

  2. The lookalike and the book covers are all so beautiful! I would wear Courting Misfortune and Vying for the Viscount. I love those colors and I think I have similar outfits in my closet already!

  3. All of the lookalikes and book covers are beautiful! I would wear Courting Misfortune and Vying for the Viscount. I love the colors and I think I already have similar outfits in my closet!

  4. I’m truly puzzled as to why the book covers are changed?? They are historical stories even tho the messages they carry resonate with today’s women, there was effort and care that went into crafting the background history. If I was looking for an historical novel, I wouldn’t pick these up thinking they weren’t what I was seeking. I think they do the stories a real injustice. And, yes, I do read every historical book I find! Thank Georgette Heyer for that, lol!
