Since this August has a fifth Thursday, we thought it would be fun to shake up the blogging schedule and include a giveaway! As the lazy vacation days of summer slowly end, you might have to be more creative about finding a good place to sneak a few pages of your latest novel, but thankfully, reading is a year-round hobby.

I have read so many it is hard to pick a favorite. I do enjoy both Jen Turano and Judith Miller and have read bookd by both this summer I would be thrilled to receive them. They are on my to buy list.
I’ve read many good books this year… Sons of Blackbird Mountain (Joanne Bischof), The Love Letter (Rachel Hauck), and Things I Never Told You (Beth K. Vogt) just to name a few!

I just finished Karen Witemeyer’s More Than Meets The Eye, which I thought one of her best books. It was one of many good books I read this summer.

I could hardly wait for Jen Turano’s Book. Ever since she visited my book club, she has been my favorite author. I love reading her books. They make me laugh.

I enjoyed Ann Gabhart’s River to Redemption, The Cumberland Bride by Shannon MacNear, and Stratagem by Robin Caroll.
One excellent book I read this summer was “The Scent of Her Soul,” by Bryan Davis. It was dark and gritty, but good.
As an aside, I find the selection of books pictured above very amusing. “Romance, romance, MURDER, romance.”

I loved Elizabeth Camden’s latest release, A Daring Venture! It is my favorite summer read!

My favorite was a nonficiton – Everybody Always by Bob Goff. My favorite fiction read this summer was Long Way Gone by Charles Martin.

Oh wow, which book do I mention. Out of quite a few books that I read, Colleen Coble stands out. My daughter bought me one of her books for Christmas that I hadn’t read yet. Once I started reading Beneath Copper Falls, I didn’t put it down until three in the morning. I have went and bought another book by her. I also finished it in one day. Can’t wait to read these books!

I enjoy reading about WW2 and the events leading up to it and this was a lot of new for me. Heartbreaking and informative.
I read many books this summer but “Dead Drift” by Dani Pettrey was a favorite.
Usually I would say the one I just finished….it was great but I think my favorite was Isaiah’s Daughter by Mesu Andrews.
As the Tide Comes In by Cindy Woodsmall and Erin Woodsmall. It’s such an amazing story!!!!

I really enjoyed reading Dani Pettrey’s Chesapeake Valor series this summer.
Judah’s Wife, by Angela Hunt, is a book I enjoyed reading. I learned a lot about the silent years, the Maccabees, and ancient Israelite customs and difficulties. I love a book that makes me see the world or humanity differently.
The Hope of Azure Springs!! Great debut author.
As Bright As Heaven by Susan Meissner. It takes place during the Spanish flu epidemic, a period of history I didn’t know much about.

A great book I read this summer was Sheila Walsh’s In the Middle of the Mess. Sheila is so real and genuine in her writing, and readers will feel so connected with her story. She helps you to go from shame, guilt, and desperation to healing.
The best I’ve read recently is Iscariot. What an amazing and moving story!
I was not too impressed with my summer reads, but I really liked some books I read this past year. Sophie’s Heart by Lori Wick, For Love or Country by Jennifer Hudson Taylor, Burning Sky, and More Than Meets the Eye by Karen Witemeyer were very good.

I read several books that I really liked over the summer. Two of them are The Amish Quilter by Mindy Starns Clark & Leslie Gould and More Than Meets the Eye by Karen Witemeyer.
I read Fawkes, by Nadine Brandes, and I loved it.
Two of my favorites from this summer were The Story Peddler by Lindsay A. Franklin and Fawkes by Nadine Brandes. Both absolutely wonderful reads!!
I haven’t read just one great book, I have read many! The Sons of Blackbird Mountain, The Love Letter, and currently reading As Wide As The Sky. I think every book transports me to a time and place that not only lets me escape reality for a while, but usually teaches me something about history or how I might possibly handle a certain scenario.

I really loved Lynette Eason’s Called to Protect and Dead Drift by Dani Pettrey, and Jen Turano’s Caught by Surprise was a hoot. How am I supposed to choose between all the great reads this season??
I just finished reading ‘A Rebel Heart'(Daughtry House Book #1) by Beth White. It was amazing!! It was rich in history, suspense, and a perfect blend of mystery and romance.
Sarah Sundin’s Waves of Freedom Trilogy- delightful read. Patriotic and a Christian point of view that contributes to the story and doesn’t weigh it down. Her stories brought me into the historical fiction world of WWll, I’ve read all the completed trilogies, and these books once again, ‘well done’

A very good book I read this summer was The Tutors daughter by Julie Klassen.
This Summer I read Suzanne Woods Fisher’s outstanding: “Anna’s Crossing (Amish Beginnings Book 1)”. I loved all three books in the series, because it combined genes I love: Early American Settlement, America’s Settlement by Persecuted Christian Groups, Historic Christian Romances, & American Settlers & Indian Interaction stories!
