At the RWA conference, several of our authors were honored with awards. We here at Bethany House love cheering them on in their successes!
Jaime Jo Wright won the Daphne du Maurier award in the Inspirational category for The House on Foster Hill.
Rachel Dylan won the Faith, Hope, and Love Reader’s Choice Award for Deadly Proof in the romantic suspense category.
And Tracie Peterson received a Centennial Award for more than 100 published romance novels. (Yes, you read that right, and that’s not including her novellas!)
Because we’re so proud of these authors, I’m hosting an impromptu giveaway on the blog. We’ll choose three winners to pick a book by one of the three authors above as their prize. To enter, “like” at least one of these authors’ pages on Facebook (Tracie Peterson, Rachel Dylan, Jaime Jo Wright), then come back to comment on this post with the answer to this question: “What’s a book you recently read that you’d like to give an award to?” (If you’ve already liked one of these authors’ pages, just comment. No need to say whose page you liked, we’ll just check that the winners have done so before contacting them.) Giveaway closes on Monday, July 30.
I just finished Susan Ann Mason’s A Most Noble Heir, I would give this novel an award, so well done and love the Biblical truths and wisdom shared in the book!

I would give Jaime Jo Wright an award for The Reckoning at Gossamer Pond. I couldn’t put it down. It was so good
One of the books that affected me the most profoundly was Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It took me a while to get through it due to lots of work hours, but it affected me in a profound way.

Falling For You by Becky Wade. She always tackles real life issues while throwing in some humor along the way. And her characters are just so likeable!
Leveraging Lincoln by Stephenia McGee
I just finished Dead Drift by Dani Pettrey. Such an awesome series and so sad to see it end.
Bridge of Faith, Catherine West! It was gritty, real and about how to move on after tragedy!

Masterpiece by Francine Rivers was extraordinary! Thank you for this chance!
I would give an award to Lynn Austin for Waves of Mercy. She masterfully weaved the past and present to create a story I just couldn’t put down! It was even more special since part of the book takes place in Michigan, where I lived most of my life. So excited for the follow up novel!
Not trying to be redundant, but The House on Foster Hill was a wonderful book! I just had the opportunity to borrow it from the public library, and wow, it’s deserving of all the awards! I hope to be able to add a copy to our church library I’m revitalizing!
So hard to choose a book to win an award — there are so many great books! I just finished reading Terri Blackstocks If I Run series. It was so amazing I read the whole series in less than a week — I just couldn’t put it down.

This year have been an amazing year so far! So many great books. I can’t just choose one, but I can say all of the ones I’m about to say are among my TOP TOP reads, not only for 2018, but all time! They are Kristi Ann Hunter for A Defense of Honor, More than Meets the Eye by Karen Witemeyer and Where Hope Begins by Catherine West. Each one presents a story of entertainment, but the element of inspiration leading to hope and encouragement makes them exceptional. Isn’t that what Christian Fiction is about?
Thank you for the chance!
Blessings all!

I read Exile of the Seas by Jeffe Kennedy and I’d award that book with the ‘Internal Transformation’ award because the heroine leaves an abusive relationship, crosses countries, and learns who she truly is and her worth…all while under a vow of silence.

I read Allie & Bea and Heaven Adjacent by Catherine Ryan Hyde! These books were amazing, inspirational reads!
First of all, on Facebook I use the name Lea
Wilson-Reynolds (because I recently retired from public school teaching) and I visited and liked all three author pages. I would like to see Dani Pettrey’s book DEAD DRIFT win an award. She is an amazing Christian author and this finale for the Chesapeake Valor series was awesome!

Kristy Cambron- The Lost Castle. All her books have been awesome!
Well, I have read this one recently (and a couple times previously), but it is a much older book that I am sure won awards in its day. LM Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables never fails to make me see everything new again and always cheers me up.

I would give an award to Suzanne Woods Fisher’s Amish Beginnings series. It is the history of the Amish and Mennonite settlers from the time they came from Germany in the 1700’s. I just finished the series and it opened my eyes to the what they went through, just as all immigrants did when our country was young.
I loved A Refuge Assured by Jocelyn Green! That was one that was so in-depth and rich with history, while also having a riveting plot. Congrats to the ladies above!
Judah’s Wife, by Angela Hunt. Beautifully written.
No One Ever Asked by Katie Ganshert. It was well written and very thought-provoking.
I just finished Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, and thought it was one of the best books that I have read this year. It is deserving of an award. The first impression of this odd, solitary woman is misleading. Initially, Eleanor is not very likeable, but her back-story is so heartbreaking and inspiring that as she learns to open her heart to a friend, the reader can’t help but root for her happiness.
Oh goodness, that would be a hard choice! I recently read A Daring Venture by Elizabeth Camden and The Best of Intentions by Susan Anne Mason so I would nominate both of those.
