Sabotaged Release Race

In Sabotaged, Alaska’s iconic Iditarod sled race becomes a race against danger of a different kind for Kirra Jacobs and the McKenna family.

The actual Iditarod race doesn’t start for another 22 days (you can view the official website here), but I thought it would be fun to have our own competition here on the blog. Whether you’re a long-time McKenna fan who wants to help promote the series or a newcomer to Dani Pettrey’s suspense novels, here are some fun “checkpoints” to celebrate Sabotaged’s release.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a BHP suspense package, including the entire Alaskan Courage series, Deadly Echoes by Nancy Mehl, and an autographed hardcover copy of Unspoken by Dee Henderson. And, just for fun, a $20 Starbucks gift card so you can drink something warm while reading to keep the winter chill away.

Three second prize winners will receive a copy of Sabotaged (or Submerged, the first in the series, if they prefer).

Wouldn't these books look great on your shelf? (Or a friend's if you already own them!)

To enter: the only thing you have to do to enter the race is comment on this blog post with name of your favorite book in the Alaskan Courage series. (I know, I know…it’s an impossible question.)

However, the more checkpoints you complete, the more chances you’ll have to win. Here are the categories you’ll find in the base camp entry form at the end of the blog post:

Checkpoint One: Visit Dani’s Sabotaged Pinterest board. If you have a Pinterest account, pin the book cover on one of your boards! If you don’t, enter in the form what Russian item comes into play in this story (a picture of it is pinned on the board).

Checkpoint Two: Share on Facebook which McKenna character you get from this quiz. (There’s a social media share feature at the end of it so you can pass it along to all your reader friends!)

Checkpoint Three: Visit this contest or this interview for Sabotaged on The Christian Manifesto and comment on one of the posts. (If you want to enter the giveaway while you’re there, that’s great too!)

Checkpoint Four: Comment on or share a post from Dani’s author Facebook page. (Make sure you’ve “liked” it too!)

This “base camp” entry form will be open until the end of February 18! Be sure to enter and spread the word to your friends—the race is on!

  1. I haven’t read them yet, I am about to begin. My favorite winter activity is to watch it snow with a cup of coffee and a good book!

  2. Wow! What a question. That’s almost like asking which one of my kids is my favorite…. If I HAD to choose one, I guess I’d go with Submerged because that was where the Dani Pettrey adventure began.

  3. I haven’t had the opportunity to read any of the books in the Alaskan Courage series, but they look wonderful! My favorite winter activity would have to be sledding and then curling up on the couch to read a good book!

  4. Each story is so unique but they all have the same thread of family cohesiveness, forgiveness, and reconciliation. I think I liked Sabotaged the best because Reef made a great lead character and you could look back over the series and see how much he had grown.

  5. Super excited about the Sabotaged Release Race. Awesome post!!! Thank you so very mush :))) Okay, really bad pun, but couldn’t resist.

  6. So hard to pick a favorite, but Jake and Kayden’s relationship had me from the first book, so I’d have to go with Silenced, but Sabotaged and Shattered are both a close second.

  7. I’ve not read the Alaskan Courage Series. My favorite winter activity is staying inside with a cuppa hot tea and a good book….;)

  8. Haven’t read the books yet. I was born in Alaska so I try to read any Christian fiction books set in Alaska. My favorite winter activity is to play in the snow with my kids.

  9. Ahhh! How to decide!? I loved every single one of the Alaskan Courage books! I was never a big fan of romance novels until I read Submerged, and now I can’t seem to put them down. 😉 Although I adored all five books, I’d have to say Shattered is my favorite. 🙂 Can’t wait for the new series next year! 🙂

  10. How do I choose a favorite??? I guess I would have to say Submerged, because that is when I fell in love with the characters and knew that I found a new favorite author! Can’t wait for the next series!

  11. This is such a difficult choice!! But I am picking Submerged – not because its my favorite because I loved them all, but because that was the one that introduced me to the series and to this amazing author! Thank you Bethany House and Dani Pettrey – I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to read all five books!!

  12. I’ve only read the first 3 so far. I think I liked Shattered the best. I can hardly wait to read the last 2. It’s hard to pick a favorite though.

  13. There’s a Faberge Egg posted on the Pinterest site. Thank you for offering this giveaway! And I’d especially love to win the Dani Pettrey books and the Starbucks giftcard! 🙂 and my favorite book is Shattered with Landon and Piper.

  14. Which book in the Alaskan Courage series is your favorite? (Or, if you haven’t read any, what’s your favorite winter activity?)
Since I really like Piper and her story, and I’m a fan of romances that come out of long time friendships, I’d have to say Shattered is my favorite.

  15. Haven’t read any of these yet! But my favorite winter hobby to do is read! It’s the best time to read because I stay in the house more!

  16. Submerged. Loved the Indiana jones type stuff! Also, I think I liked it because it was the first one I had read and was SO excited that another GOOD Christian suspense author was out there! Love suspense…Christian based has taught me a lot and helped me grow in my relationship with God.

  17. I haven’t read this series yet so my favorite winter activity is to be inside reading a good book, with a hot drink, roaring fire in the fireplace, hanging out with my hubby! Thanks for the giveaway!

  18. I haven’t had the pleasure of reading any of the books in the series yet, but am looking forward to doing so. I love to go sledding in the winter! 🙂

  19. I have enjoyed and loved Submerged, Shattered and Stranded. I hate to pick just one, but I’ll have to give the edge to Shattered.

  20. I have just discovered this series, so I haven’t read any yet. My favorite winter activity is sleigh rides!!!! My Dad participated in the first sled race that became the Anchorage Rendezvous!

  21. Yay love these fun giveaways…about to get another blizzard here in new england but luckily I got some great books to read but more would be totally great!

  22. I really love them all, but if I had to pick…Shattered, maybe?! Landon and Piper had a TON of fun chemistry. But I also loved Stranded. THIS IS TOO HARD. Lol!

  23. I’ve never read them because this is the first I’ve ever heard of the series. But can I still enter!? Sounds really interesting and would love to read them!!

  24. Silenced!!! Although i really really love them all (and can’t wait to read Sabotaged) i really liked Kayden and Jake but i also really liked the rest of the family. 🙂

  25. This is a new series for me, and I am so excited to get started. I spent a summer in Alaska, volunteering at a camp and with summer programs. I loved the time I spent there!

  26. Favorite winter activity would probably be reading in a cozy chair with a blanket and a mug of hot chocolate. It may be cliché, but it’s what I enjoy!

  27. Wow, I think that my favorite book in the Alaskan Courage Series is Shattered. Great plot and relatable characters! Thanks for the giveaway!

  28. Stranded is my favorite so far, but I’m so looking forward to the release of Sabotaged. I follow the Iditarod year round and love the race.

  29. I really enjoyed all of them especially as I got to sorting out who all the individuals were in the family and the part they each played.

  30. This is impossible…each story dealt with tough issues in inspiring ways with amazing characters! I’m going to say the last book…Stranded, because of the story material. It has stayed with me when I think of this series. It also makes me wish I had a bigger family to share in all our own adventures! It would rock to be a McKenna sibling! I loved all their stories and enjoyed living vicariously through their adventures, too!

  31. I have loved this series. I finished that last book a few days ago!! Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of reading these!! My favorites were all of them! (Though I especially liked the Jake/Kayden connection, so book #4 could technically be my favorite.) The McKenna family is hard not to love!
